Gatsby Exam Reflection

We will be taking a slow and SILENT walk to look at BOTH classes' analysis posters.

1.  Reflecting on your experience of this exam and the posters now on the wall, write specific responses to at least ONE of these three questions.  Hint... more is better when it comes to learning!

A.  What I learned about the content of The Great Gatsby (who, what, where, when of the story)

ex. I realized Gatsby had actually earned most of his money through illegal activities.

B.  What I learned about the form of The Great Gatsby (character, setting, plot, theme, and other literary features)

ex. I discovered that I really do see Nick as the protagonist of this story.

ex. I found there is very little text evidence defining Nick and Jordan's relationship.

C.  What I learned about literary features (specific features, and/or how they work together in fiction)

ex. I found out that "hyperbole" is another word for exaggeration or overstatement.

2.  Reflecting on the "poetry" found in Gatsby, what do you notice about similarities and differences between poetry and prose?

ex. Although imagery is present in a lot of poetry, not all imagery is that poetic.  I'm curious about the qualities needed to make text "feel" like a poem.
