Assignment templates available on Google Docs: click here.

2. Search Global Issues here:

GIC

3. Search Ebsco Host here:

Ebsco

4. Don't Google yet.

Google

5. When you have finished the Topic Source assignment, save, print, and turn in to MsB. If you have time remaining, you may get your eCards set up and begin taking notes.

Research Step 2: Start eCards

1. Open assignment here. Save to your folder as RPeCards_YOURNAME_.

TIPS: How to make MLA bibliography in Global Issues and Ebsco (EASIER than EasyBib!).

2. Continue to use Global Issues and Ebsco Host for your first 10 eCards (no Google yet).

3. Your final paper should have the following sections, so this is the information you are looking for. Use these outline headings in your "subtopic" column.

     I. Background
          A. Country Background
          B. Problem Background

     II. Problem
          A. Effects
          B. Causes

     III. Solutions
          A. Alternatives
          B. Pros / Cons

     IV. Recommendation
          A. Best approach
          B. Why it is best

Research CHECKPOINT: 10 eCards

1. When you have at least 10 eCards completed, call over MsB to check them on your screen.

For full credit, be sure you have followed the instructions embedded in the eCards template and summarized here.

Research Step 3: Country Background Paragraph

1. Open assignment here. Save to your folder as RPCountryBackground_YOURNAME_.doc.

Good sources for country background:
Global Issues: "Overview" and "Reference," usually at top of page after searching for country.
Ebsco: Uncheck all except "Country Reports" in "Include when searching" box.

Once your 10 eCards are approved, you may use any good sources (web, print, other), but be paying attention to HOW great or terrible each source is. Don't use information from bad sources, but DO save the URL in your eCards, because we will be comparing the best/worst of our sources in the "Great and Terrible Source Hunt."

The Country Background paragraph must include evidence*, but for this exercise does not need to be a full CEAL paragraph.
*facts from at least two sources required -- use three sources for more credit
